Year 9 Women in STEM
Johnson and Johnson

On 5th December, all the girls in Year 9 took part in a Women in Stem event.

Three women leaders from Johnson and Johnson spoke about their roles and journey within STEM and about the barriers and stereotypes of people working within the STEM industry.

The students learnt about the DePuy Synthes part of the business, which make medical devices. Their main site is in Morley and they spoke about university placements, apprenticeships and potential work experience. Students then broke into groups and had the opportunity to ask the speakers some questions. The majority of the girls were inspired to think about choosing STEM roles for their future.
