Work Experience
From 15 to 26 April, all Year 10 students completed a two-week work experience placement, with 127 different employers throughout the city. There were a variety of placements – pharmacies, theatres, restaurants, hospitals, solicitors and engineering companies to name a few.
We had great feedback from employers, many of whom would be happy to take our students again. Teachers visited the students to gain feedback and took the pictures shown below. I want to personally congratulate all of Year 10 for representing the school and gaining vital employability skills.
Some examples of the great feedback:
Jainaba was incredible as she encouraged the children without giving answers. The class teacher told Alice that she would really miss Jainaba this week, such was her contribution. She would be welcome back anytime as a volunteer or employee.
Harry was very engaging and seemed to take a genuine interest in the inner workings of RCI. I was very impressed with his ability to grasp quite complicated theory and methodology. Far beyond what I would have expected for someone of his age and his limited exposure to the discipline of transfusion medicine.
It has been an absolute pleasure working with Alan. He is a polite and pleasant young man, and a credit to this school and his family. For me, it was a pleasure working with a student who wanted to be here, wanted to learn and took in the information given.
Danny is very helpful and went that extra mile with a smile.
Oliver was punctual, polite and courteous to all staff and very keen to learn about how a business works.
Isaac is a bright and driven young man who is enthusiastic and willing to try new things. We hope that he will find his path in the Engineering field where we are certain he will prosper.
