U14 Girl’s Football
On Thursday 13 October, the U14 Girl’s Football team travelled to Guiseley School to play in the first round of the Leeds Schools Cup. Right from the offset it was clear it was going to be a tough game that required the girls to have a lot of mental resilience. The score line was continually changing throughout the game and for most of the second half it remained at a 2-2 draw. It wasn’t until the last 5 minutes that we, unfortunately, conceded the winning goal, making the final score 3-2 to Guiseley School.
I am very proud of how far the team have come since last season and the football that they played during this game. Every single player on the pitch worked hard and demonstrated the desire to not give up. Although the result did not go our way this time, it was a very positive start to the season for this team and I know the girls will continue to get stronger with their commitment to training sessions.
