Year 10 Health and Social Care students visit Leeds City College

Our Year 10 students visited Leeds City College on Monday 26th June, to provide them with the opportunity to explore what studying Health and Social Care at college may look like.

Students experimented in the laboratory, inhaling and exhaling pigs lungs. They looked at different factors that impact our lungs and cause disease, such as pollutants, smoking and vapes.

Students also conducted some tests that measured their health to give health professionals an indication of if they are making progress and getting better or not.

Other activities included looking at the impact of alcohol on our bodies, examining our hygiene and the impact that pregnancy may have upon us. We completed some Lego therapy and colouring as part of mental health care.
