Girls Rugby League Team
It is the first year in a long time that MSM have fielded a girls rugby league team. The Year 7 and 8 girls’ team have been training since September when, for most of them, it was their first introduction to contact rugby. This has meant that we have been able to enter into the summer league, where the girls have impressed me so much with the first few games that they have played.
It is really important to remember that a score does not always represent the ability of a team and closeness of a game. The resilience of this team cannot be faulted and the desire to better their game and skill level is outstanding. When it came to playing competitive games, the girls stepped up the gears and really showed what they are capable of.
Allerton Grange 2-2 draw
Corpus Christi 4-1 loss
Carr Manor 7-6 loss
Well done to all the girls that have been part of the Year 7/8 team in these 3 games. This is a team of so much potential in years to come, keep up the commitment to training!
