Year 10 BTEC Sport students visit to Leeds City College

As students come towards the end of Year 10 they are starting to think about their options at post 16 and what subjects they would like to continue studying.

Over the last 2 weeks all students in Year 10 that study BTEC Sport visited Leeds City College, Park Lane Campus. During the visit they were involved in an introductory session about what Sport courses and opportunities were available at Leeds City College. Some students were surprised to find out that there are 11 different sports courses available, which would allow them to specialise a little bit more in the areas that they found interesting from the current course.

One of the tasks that the students did got them thinking about the different careers in sport and pathways into those careers. To finish the visit the students had a tour of the campus facilities. We are looking forward to visiting Leeds City College again next academic year, where students who are hoping to apply for a sports course can take part in a practical session and learn a bit more about the specific courses.

Thank you to Leeds City College, Park Lane Campus for inviting us in.
